NEW JERSEY – A South Plainfield native is taking the roofing business by storm and celebrating the one-year anniversary of her successful company.
Amanda Veinott, who was born and raised in South Plainfield, is no stranger to facing challenges, but her persistence has led her to creating a successful business in the construction industry and helping the community at the same time.
Veinott launched and owns Maven Roofing & Exteriors, a successful roofing business that serves the Northern and Central New Jersey areas. She started this company after working in the corporate world for 10 years in human resources consulting and after shifting into entrepreneurialism.
In her entrepreneurial endeavors, Veinott has experienced both success, with a business she sold in 2018, and failure, with a business that ran from 2018 until 2020, when COVID-19 forced it to close its doors.
From there, knowing that two of the best and only opportunities for work during the pandemic were in the medical and construction fields, Veinott “pivoted into construction and never looked back,” she said.
Veinott worked at a roofing company in a sales position for two and a half years with no intention of starting her own roofing company, but that all changed when she attended a roofing conference.
“I was at a National Women in Roofing conference,” Veinott said. “Four weeks prior to me starting my company was when the conference was. I saw all of these successful business owners – all women – who all had these crazy backgrounds that were not construction related, and they pivoted into construction and roofing.”
Veinott was inspired by other women who were succeeding in this industry, and with her background, she knew she could succeed in starting her own business.
“I already had a successful company. Yeah, I had a failed business, but everybody goes through their failures,” she added.
