Why September is a Great Month for a Roof Replacement
Mild Weather: September in New Jersey often brings mild to moderate temperatures, ranging from 60s to 70s during the daytime, which heats the shingles and their adhesive up to an ideal temperature for sealing properly, and quickly. The shingles are also warm enough where they are flexible and not rigid from colder temperatures, making things easier to work with. Mild temperatures also create a comfortable working environment for our roofers, which leads to a more efficient work environment.
Lower Rainfall: Except for the wonky tropical storms we sometimes get, September is generally drier compared to the summer months, reducing the risk of weather delays or unforseen wild weather during the project. A dry environment is crucial for the safety of our crews and for keeping our projects on schedule.
Beat the Rush before Winter: We see it every year…August is our slowest time of year and then it ramps up quickly starting at the beginning of September once the kiddos go back to school. End of September – end of October is usually our busiest time of year for estimates because people are realizing winter is fast approaching and that they want to be buttoned up under a brand new roof come the threat of 3 feet of snow and NJ ice storms.
